We offer training sessions onsite or offsite, fully customized to your needs and experience. The morning session is focused on developers whilst the afternoon session is focussed on operations. Many organizations find it beneficial to have everyone attend.
Morning
- Cassandra introduction and installation (EC2)
- Application design: data modeling, CQL, Cassandra APIs, denormalisation, examples and use cases
- Distribution model: eventual consistency, consistent hashing, replication, consistency levels
Afternoon
- Internals: data structures, SSTables, memtables
- Performance tuning and monitoring: garbage collection, compaction, JMX metrics
- Operations and troubleshooting: failure recovery mechanisms, bootstrapping and decommissioning nodes
