Acunu's technology powers the Acunu Data Platform. Explore some of it below.

Acunu Core: A Linux kernel for Big Data

The Acunu Core is at the heart of our next-generation distribution for Cassandra. It allows us to offer a distribution that covers the entire stack, from disk to operating system, to Cassandra. By offloading much of the work, it allows substantial reductions in insert latency and much improved range query performance. It also means that Acunu can support the entire stack, without resorting to third-party support. It gives you a next-generation Cassandra Appliance, ready-to-go, out of the box. Acunu RDA: Next-generation RAID - rebuild 3TB disks in minutes.

In today’s RAID systems, a failed disk can take a node down for a day or more.  Acunu’s patented RAID replacement algorithms (RDA in the chart) finally remove this barrier. A 3TB disk can be rebuilt in less than an hour with little performance impact. The result: nobody has to get out of bed at 3am to change a failed disk, and you can safely use the largest, cheapest SATA disks. In fact, as disks fail, the freespace on the remaining disks is used to reconstruct the failed disk. So you don’t need any hot spares either. Our principal scientist, Andrew Byde PhD, explains more here.

Acunu Commander: Command the entire cluster with a single UI.

Command the entire cluster by simply pointing a web browser at any Acunu node. Acunu provides one of the slickest web-based UIs, which is easy to use but also incredibly powerful.

It allows you to manage the entire stack, from disk rebuilds and low free space to notifications about Cassandra. Uniquely, it allows one-click deployments of new nodes into the cluster. Integration with other management tools is easy thanks to open REST JSON APIs.
