The Acunu Data Platform combines an open, fast and flexible storage engine based on patented algorithms along with a powerful management interface for scale­-out deployment and cluster management. The first deployment of the Data Platform is used to power Apache Cassandra and an Amazon S3 ­compatible store.

Acunu was founded in 2009 and is backed by some of Europe’s top VC funds, with total funding standing at £3.1M ($5.0M). Started by a unique mix of researchers and engineers from Cambridge and Oxford Universities, Acunu has offices in London (near Old Street, London’s “Silicon Roundabout”) and California.
