Why work at Acunu?
Acunu combines some of the most interesting and challenging technical roles available in startups today together with a great office environment and culture. We are funded by some of Europe's leading venture capital firms and since launching our first product in June 2011 have landed a range of high-profile clients (read how we helped Britain’s Got Talent).
Technical Roles
Our engineering team does serious work right up and down the stack. We pride ourselves on being a startup that does both world-class research (we publish, patent and are involved with the academic community) and product engineering that solves key business problems. You'll be solving challenging, interesting and relevant computer science problems, so we look for a strong grasp of fundamental CS, and value mathematics highly, as it underpins much of what we do. Collectively, we have worked on many projects you'll know of or use without knowing it, including Xen, ZFS and VxFS and more.
Commercial Roles
Since public launch of the Acunu Data Platform in June 2011 we have signed up a range of high profile customers, and our commercial team is growing fast. We are looking for commercially focused sales and marketing professionals with experience in the technology sector who are passionate about working at the leading edge of big data technology.
Work Environment
We offer high quality spacious offices in Islington near London's Silicon Roundabout with regular BBQs on the roof terrace, flexible working, regular deliveries of Dunkin Donuts (and fruit!) and a quality coffee machine. We will shortly be opening our second office in the heart of San Francisco. We give you the equipment you need to do your job. A laptop of your choice, Aeron chairs and great high-quality offices on the Regents Canal close to Islington's Upper Street. We have a large roof terrace with great views of London and have regular BBQs.
Just graduating? No problem.
We recruit graduates straight from degree and postgrad courses at top tier universities, and run an internships programme for students still completing their courses. We have internship opportunities all year round and can be flexible on placement length. All our internships are paid. As a new grad or intern, from day one you will be working on the same challenging problems as our full time engineers. You’ll be assigned a mentor and supported by a strong, highly capable and very friendly team. We let you get stuck in rather than sit through a long induction program! Pre-requisites are a strong grasp of fundamental CS, some experience with one or more of the languages we use (C, OCaml, Java, Javascript) and familiarity working in a Linux environment. Evidence of extra-curricular development work or open source contributions is a strong plus.
