Overview
Bare Metal, Software Appliance Distribution: Acunu runs on ‘bare metal' - download a USB installer and turn commodity servers into a cluster of Cassandra appliances. There are no configuration files to edit, no RAID setup, it just works.
Powered by Acunu Core: The Acunu Core (“Castle”) is at the heart of our distribution for Apache Cassandra. It comprises a rewrite of the Linux storage stack that offloads much of the storage work from Cassandra. It is optimized for today's demanding NOSQL workloads and commodity hardware. It includes optimized OS caching and buffering schemes, new storage algorithms with direct access to disks, SSD-aware storage layout algorithms (coming in V2) and an alternative RAID scheme that rebuilds 2TB disks in 30 minutes.
Easy to Deploy and Manage: Acunu requires no changes to Cassandra applications; it’s integrated, tested and hardened; and is 100% compatible with Apache Cassandra drivers and APIs including Thrift and CQL.
Full-stack, supported and tested: Because Acunu controls the entire stack, we can support and debug problems that would normally require multiple vendors and be time-consuming, expensive and difficult to fix.
Rock-solid - over 10,000 machine-hours of testing per build: Acunu’s Distribution for Cassandra undergoes more automated tests than any other Cassandra distribution available.
